Sauna bathing may lead to heatstroke. Because sauna bathing usually takes place in an enclosed environment with high temperature and high humidity, this kind of environment can cause thermal stress to the body, leading to dysfunction of temperature regulation. Under these conditions, if the environmental temperature is too high, there is poor ventilation, and the humidity is excessively high, it can easily result in loss of body water and electrolytes, as well as disturbances in the thermoregulatory center, thereby causing symptoms of heatstroke. Symptoms of heatstroke may include dizziness, thirst, excessive sweating, and body temperature may rise above 38 degrees Celsius; in severe cases, it can even be life-threatening. When undergoing sauna bathing, one should pay attention to controlling the environmental temperature and humidity, and timely replenish water and electrolytes to prevent heatstroke.
