Feeling dry mouth after speaking a few sentences may result from the combined effects of various factors.
1. The moisture level in the mouth and throat is essential for smooth speech. If the environment is dry or fluid intake is insufficient, saliva evaporates more quickly during speaking, leading to dry mouth.
2. When speaking too quickly, for prolonged periods, or when emotionally agitated, increased breathing rate accelerates the evaporation of moisture from the mucous membranes of the mouth and throat, resulting in a feeling of thirst.
3. Certain health conditions, such as diabetes and Sjögren's syndrome, or certain medications currently being taken, may also cause dry mouth. In addition, personal habits, such as frequently breathing through the mouth rather than the nose, can exacerbate dry mouth.
