Is chronic glomerulonephritis easy to treat?
Disease description:
One of my friends was diagnosed with chronic glomerulonephritis. No wonder he often felt weak and experienced kidney pain, with a general lack of energy for daily activities. He wants to recover from this condition as soon as possible. I would like to ask the experts about this: is chronic glomerulonephritis treatable?
The treatment of chronic glomerulonephritis is relatively challenging, and complete recovery is difficult to achieve. This can be understood from the following aspects:
1. Cure rate: Chronic glomerulonephritis cannot be fully restored to a normal state. However, with active treatment, clinical symptoms can be effectively relieved.
2. Treatment goals: The main objective of treatment is to stabilize the condition and delay the progression of renal function impairment. Even if proteinuria returns to the normal range in clinical manifestations, the pathological changes cannot be completely reversed.
3. Treatment methods: These include general management (e.g., low-salt and low-fat diet, smoking cessation, and alcohol restriction), symptomatic treatment (e.g., edema relief, lipid regulation, diuretics), and etiological treatment (e.g., administration of corticosteroids and cytotoxic drugs). When necessary, renal replacement therapies such as dialysis and kidney transplantation may also be employed.
