Disease description:

Many people around me have experienced heatstroke; some recovered on their own within one or two days without taking any medication, while others remained hospitalized without full recovery. I would like to know what the symptoms of heatstroke are and how serious it can be.

The severity of heatstroke symptoms varies, as follows: 1. Early-stage heatstroke: Symptoms include headache, thirst, dizziness, weakness in the limbs, and difficulty concentrating. Body temperature is normal or slightly elevated (usually not exceeding 37.5°C). Symptoms are mild and can be relieved with prompt treatment. 2. Mild heatstroke: Symptoms progressively worsen, with body temperature rising above 38°C, accompanied by flushed face, heavy sweating, hot skin, decreased blood pressure, and increased pulse rate. Some patients may experience nausea, vomiting, and cold, clammy limbs, which require attention. 3. Severe heatstroke: Includes heat cramps, heat exhaustion, and heatstroke with high fever. These symptoms are severe and potentially life-threatening. Heat cramps present as muscle spasms and pain. With heat exhaustion, patients may experience extreme thirst, fatigue, nausea, vomiting, and even fainting. Heatstroke with high fever is characterized by a body temperature above 40°C, absence of sweating, and impaired consciousness. It is a medical emergency requiring immediate treatment. Heatstroke symptoms progress from mild to severe, with severe cases being particularly critical. Prompt recognition and implementation of effective treatment measures are essential.
