What are the symptom manifestations of Xinjiang hemorrhagic fever?
Disease description:
I suddenly developed a high fever today, and after going to the hospital, I was diagnosed with Xinjiang hemorrhagic fever. Could you please tell me what symptoms are associated with Xinjiang hemorrhagic fever?
Xinjiang Hemorrhagic Fever Symptom Presentation:
1. Sudden onset: Patients often experience abrupt chills and high fever, with a fever duration of about one week, accompanied by headache, low back pain, and generalized body pain.
2. Skin and mucous membrane bleeding: Facial, neck, and chest skin appear flushed, with conjunctival edema of the eyeball. Petechiae (small bleeding spots) appear on the soft palate and buccal mucosa. Petechiae and ecchymoses (bruises) can be observed on the upper chest, underarms, and back, sometimes accompanied by nosebleeds.
3. Gastrointestinal symptoms: Patients often feel thirsty and nauseated, with involvement of the stomach leading to loss of appetite. Severe symptoms such as gastrointestinal bleeding may appear during the course of the disease.
4. Hypotensive shock: Around the time of fever subsidence, patients are prone to develop hypotensive shock, indicating a more severe illness.
5. Disease course and prognosis: The illness generally lasts 10–14 days, without progression through oliguric (reduced urine output) or polyuric (increased urine output) phases. If the illness is severe—for example, if patients develop shock, cavity bleeding, or pulmonary edema—the prognosis is poor.
If you have any concerns, please consult a relevant physician.
