Can chronic erosive gastritis cause abdominal pain and diarrhea?

Chronic erosive gastritis mainly causes abdominal pain, but rarely leads to diarrhea directly. Its main symptoms include dull upper abdominal pain, postprandial fullness, acid reflux, nausea, vomiting, and indigestion, among which abdominal pain is a more common manifestation. Although in rare cases patients may experience diarrhea concurrently, this usually is related to other factors such as improper or unhygienic diet leading to acute gastroenteritis, rather than a direct symptom of chronic erosive gastritis. Therefore, if diarrhea occurs, further examinations should be conducted to determine whether other gastrointestinal problems or complications exist.
