What are heat rashes?
Disease description:
Many transparent, jelly-like bumps appeared on the legs, accompanied by itching and redness. The doctor diagnosed it as prickly heat (heat rash), but I don't know why they developed and would like to understand what prickly heat is.
Miliaria (heat rash) is a skin inflammatory reaction caused by excessive sweating in high temperature and humid environments, where sweat is not easily evaporated, leading to blocked sweat gland ducts and retention of sweat within the sweat ducts. Its typical symptoms include the appearance of dense small papules or vesicles on the skin, surrounded by erythema (redness), accompanied by significant itching. Miliaria commonly occurs in summer, particularly affecting infants, young children, and individuals with weak constitutions or those who sweat easily. To prevent miliaria, it is important to maintain a cool and well-ventilated indoor environment, wear loose and breathable clothing, bathe and change clothes frequently, and avoid scratching affected areas. Once miliaria develops, timely measures should be taken for treatment to relieve symptoms and prevent the condition from worsening.
