Dr. Wang Xiaoyan
Mosquito or fly bites cannot transmit AIDS from an HIV-infected person to a healthy individual. AIDS is primarily transmitted through sexual activity, direct exchange of blood and bodily fluids, and mother-to-child vertical transmission. It is not transmitted through mosquito or fly bites. When a mosquito bites, the process of drawing blood and injecting saliva are separate and do not mix. Furthermore, most viruses are destroyed by the mosquito's digestive enzymes after biting. Additionally, the HIV virus cannot survive inside mosquitoes and flies and will die quickly, losing its infectivity. To date, no cases of AIDS transmission through mosquito bites have been found.
