The symptoms and manifestations of leukoplakia of the vulva mainly include: 1. Vulvar pruritus: Patients often experience severe itching in the vulvar area, which may worsen at night. The severity of itching is related to factors such as season, day and night cycles, menstruation, weather, diet, environment, and emotional status. The symptoms often occur intermittently. 2. Pigmentation loss: White patches or spots appear on the vulvar skin. The labia majora and minora generally become pale, and in severe cases, atrophy may occur. 3. Vulvar atrophy and adhesion: Long-term lesions can lead to atrophy, thinning, and loss of elasticity of the vulvar skin, resulting in adhesions such as clitoral and labial atrophy and fusion, which may even affect urination and sexual intercourse. 4. Skin thickening and ulcers: In some patients, the vulvar skin may become thickened, rough, and lichenified. Scratching can easily lead to ulcer formation and pain. Leukoplakia of the vulva is a chronic condition that requires timely medical attention and professional treatment.
