Hello, the most prominent symptom of vulvar leukoplakia is pruritus (itching) of the vulva. This itching is typically severe, often prompting intense scratching that further damages the skin—creating a vicious cycle of recurrent irritation and injury. Additionally, localized skin discoloration occurs: initially appearing as pink, dark red, or ivory-colored patches, which later typically progress to white. As the condition advances, patients may experience dyspareunia (painful intercourse) and a burning sensation in the vulvar region. The affected skin often exhibits reduced elasticity, with fissures and desquamation (peeling); it may also become either thickened or atrophied. We hope this information is helpful to you. Wishing you a happy and healthy life!
