Miliaria (heat rash) mainly occurs in hot and humid environments, where excessive sweating and poor evaporation lead to blockage of sweat gland ducts. This causes sweat retention and infiltration into surrounding tissues. To manage miliaria, it is important to first maintain a cool and well-ventilated environment to reduce sweating. Wear loose, breathable clothing to avoid friction and pressure. Keep the skin clean and dry by bathing frequently and thoroughly drying the body. Products such as talcum powder or cooling oils may be used to relieve symptoms. If itching is severe, topical antipruritic agents such as calamine lotion may be applied. In more severe cases, consult a physician for oral antihistamines or other medical treatments. The key to preventing miliaria is to avoid hot and humid environments and to keep the body cool and dry.
