Can prickly heat be washed with saline solution?
Disease description:
I have developed a lot of heat rash on my body. A friend told me that bathing with saline water may help improve it. I would like to know, is it okay to wash heat rash with salt water?

Miliaria (heat rash) is a common skin inflammation occurring in summer or in hot and humid environments. It is primarily caused by impaired sweat excretion and blockage of sweat ducts, manifesting as small red rashes on the skin, often accompanied by pruritus (itching) and a prickling sensation. Regarding the use of saline water to wash miliaria, in theory, mild saline solution has certain antibacterial and anti-inflammatory properties and may provide some relief for mild skin discomfort or infection. However, directly washing miliaria with saline solution may not be the best choice, as salt water may irritate already sensitive skin, worsening the symptoms of miliaria or causing discomfort.
The proper approach is to keep the affected area clean and dry, wear breathable and sweat-absorbing clothing, and avoid excessive friction and scratching. Mild cases of miliaria can be treated by applying mild medications such as calamine lotion to alleviate symptoms. If the symptoms of miliaria are severe or do not improve, prompt medical attention is recommended. Therefore, although saline solution has certain disinfectant properties, it is not recommended for direct cleansing or treatment of miliaria.
