What are the causes of prostatitis?
Disease description:
I had a physical examination recently and was diagnosed with prostatitis. I would like to know what caused it?

The causes of prostatitis are diverse, mainly including:
1. Pathogen infection: Pathogens such as bacteria and viruses may enter the prostate through urine, which is a common pathogenic factor.
2. Unhealthy lifestyle habits: Prolonged sitting, urine retention, ejaculation delay, excessive masturbation, frequent sexual activity, prolonged abstinence, alcohol abuse, and consumption of spicy or irritating foods may all lead to prostate congestion and edema, thereby inducing inflammation.
3. Psychosocial factors: Long-term mental stress, anxiety, and depression may also contribute to the development of prostatitis.
The etiology of prostatitis is complex and varied; comprehensive prevention and treatment strategies from multiple aspects are required. Maintaining personal hygiene and developing good lifestyle habits are crucial for the prevention and treatment of prostatitis.
