Disease description:

Recently, I noticed small papular wheals on my body, accompanied by intense itching. The lesions occurred on exposed areas, especially the limbs. The doctor suggested it might be due to mite bites. I would like to know what measures should be taken after mite bites?

After being bitten by mites, the following measures can be taken: 1. **Cleaning and Disinfection**: Wash the affected area with mild soap and clean water to remove mites and their secretions, preventing infection. If the bite area is significantly red and swollen, disinfect with povidone-iodine or hydrogen peroxide. 2. **Mite Removal Treatment**: Expose bedding, clothing, and other items that may be contaminated by mites to direct sunlight, and maintain a well-ventilated and dry living environment to reduce mite proliferation. 3. **Medication**: If allergic symptoms such as itching and redness occur after the bite, topical treatments such as calamine lotion or mometasone furoate cream can be used to relieve itching and inflammation. For severe symptoms, oral antihistamines such as loratadine or cetirizine may be taken under a doctor's guidance to alleviate allergic reactions. 4. **Prevention of Recurrence**: Maintain personal hygiene, regularly replace and wash bedding and clothing, and avoid staying in environments with high levels of dust mites for prolonged periods to reduce the risk of mite bites.
