Causes of Finger Joint Pain
Disease description:
Recently, I have been feeling a lot of pain and discomfort in my finger joints. I would like to ask the doctor, what are the causes of finger joint pain?
Finger joint pain may be caused by various factors:
1. Osteoarthritis: One of the most common causes, it involves the wearing away of joint cartilage with age, leading to direct contact between bones and resulting in pain, swelling, and restricted movement.
2. Rheumatoid arthritis: An autoimmune disease that can cause chronic inflammation in multiple joints, particularly affecting the finger joints, often accompanied by prolonged morning stiffness.
3. Gout: Caused by the deposition of uric acid crystals in the joints, especially at the base of the big toe, leading to acute episodes of severe pain, redness, and swelling.
4. Synovitis: Inflammation of the synovial membrane within the joint capsule, which may lead to fluid accumulation and difficulty in movement.
If the pain persists, is severe, or is accompanied by other symptoms such as fever or joint swelling, prompt medical attention should be sought.
