Can I eat brown sugar after dialysis if my blood sugar is high?
Disease description:
I have diabetes and have recently started dialysis, but my blood sugar levels remain somewhat high after dialysis. Today, I noticed a loss of taste while eating and wanted to consume some brown sugar. I would like to know whether it is safe for me to eat brown sugar when my blood sugar is high after dialysis.

Patients with high blood sugar after dialysis are not advised to consume brown sugar, mainly for the following reasons:
1. **High sugar content of brown sugar**: Brown sugar is a high-sugar food, rich in carbohydrates, containing approximately 75 grams of carbohydrates per 100 grams of brown sugar. For patients with elevated blood glucose levels, consuming brown sugar may cause a rapid increase in blood sugar within a short period, which is unfavorable for blood sugar control.
2. **Health risks**: A sudden spike in blood sugar may trigger a series of adverse symptoms, such as dizziness, fatigue, and general discomfort, which can negatively affect the health of dialysis patients.
3. **Dietary recommendations**: Patients with high blood sugar after dialysis should avoid foods high in sugar as much as possible and instead choose low-sugar foods such as vegetables, fruits, and whole grains to help maintain stable blood sugar levels.
