Hemorrhagic fever symptoms
Disease description:
I have been experiencing frequent urination and redness of the skin on the upper body recently. After an examination, I was diagnosed with hemorrhagic fever. Could you please tell me what are the symptoms of hemorrhagic fever?
Hemorrhagic fever with renal syndrome (HFRS), also known as epidemic hemorrhagic fever, is a zoonotic disease primarily caused by hantavirus, with rodents serving as the main source of infection. Its symptoms mainly include fever, hemorrhage, hypotensive shock, and kidney damage. During the febrile stage, patients often have a body temperature above 38°C, accompanied by generalized aches, headache, and lumbar pain. Hypotensive shock may subsequently develop, characterized by cold extremities and pallor. During the oliguric phase, patients experience significantly decreased urine output and may develop symptoms such as uremia and acidosis. During the diuretic phase, urine output increases, which can easily lead to dehydration and electrolyte disturbances. Finally, patients enter the convalescent phase, during which symptoms gradually subside. Due to the complex and variable nature of HFRS symptoms, timely medical treatment is essential.
If these symptoms appear, especially in individuals with a travel history to endemic areas or who have been exposed to animals that may carry the virus, immediate medical attention should be sought.
