Symptoms of Rubella
Disease description:
May I ask, my wife is 48 years old this year. She was recently diagnosed with rubella during a medical examination. I would like to know what symptoms are associated with rubella?
Rubella presents with a variety of symptoms, such as fever, rash, sore throat, lymphadenopathy, and general fatigue.
1. **Fever**: Rubella is an acute infectious disease caused by the rubella virus. After the virus enters the body, it activates the immune system. Endogenous pyrogens also affect the body's temperature-regulating center, leading to fever.
2. **Rash**: The rubella virus invades the skin and mucous membranes, causing a rash in affected individuals. The rash typically first appears on the face, then spreads to the neck, trunk, and limbs.
3. **Sore Throat**: Since the rubella virus can also attack the upper respiratory tract, patients may experience symptoms such as sore throat and cough.
4. **Lymphadenopathy**: After entering the human body, the rubella virus invades the lymphatic system, causing lymph nodes to swell. Patients may also experience joint swelling and pain.
5. **General Fatigue**: During fever, rubella patients experience significant energy consumption, which can lead to symptoms of general fatigue and body aches.
