Rubella is an acute infectious disease caused by the rubella virus. The main symptoms include:

1. Fever: lasts about 1 to 2 days, presenting as low-grade fever, headache, loss of appetite, fatigue, and other mild upper respiratory symptoms.

2. Rash: usually appears 1 to 2 days after the onset of fever. The rash initially develops on the face and neck and rapidly spreads to the trunk and limbs. It starts as small, light red macules that fade quickly without leaving scars. Swelling of the lymph nodes behind the ears and at the back of the head may also occur and can persist for 3 to 4 weeks.

3. Eye symptoms: such as red eyes or sensitivity to light.

4. Mild cough or runny nose.

The treatment for rubella mainly involves symptomatic and supportive care, as there is no specific medication to cure the viral infection. Specific measures include:

1. Rest: ensuring adequate rest helps the body recover.

2. Hydration: drinking plenty of water to prevent dehydration.

3. Fever reduction: using over-the-counter medications such as ibuprofen or acetaminophen to relieve fever and discomfort.

4. Symptomatic treatment: appropriate management, such as antipyretics and analgesics, should be provided for symptoms like high fever and headache.

5. Prevention of complications: monitoring changes in the condition and seeking timely medical attention for possible complications.
