Pelvic effusion refers to the accumulation of fluid in the female pelvis, which may be caused by various factors: 1. Sensation of pressure, lower abdominal and lumbosacral pain: The main symptoms include a feeling of pressure, pain on one or both sides of the lower abdomen. Chronic inflammation leads to scar adhesions and pelvic congestion, resulting in distension, pain in the lower abdomen, and lumbosacral soreness. 2. Decreased immunity: Systemic symptoms of pelvic effusion are usually not obvious; sometimes low-grade fever and fatigue may occur. In cases with a longer disease duration, some patients may develop symptoms of neurasthenia, such as lethargy, general malaise, and insomnia. 3. Menstrual disorders: Patients with concurrent pelvic congestion may experience increased menstrual flow; ovarian dysfunction may lead to menstrual irregularities; tubal adhesions or obstruction may result in female infertility. 4. Infertility: Infertility is the most common symptom of pelvic effusion. If pelvic inflammatory disease leads to tubal obstruction, infertility may occur.
