Patients with axillary odor may use perfume to mask the smell to some extent, but this is not a long-term solution. Perfume cannot fundamentally resolve the issue of axillary odor, as the condition is caused by abnormal secretion of the apocrine sweat glands, while perfume merely acts on the surface of the skin. Furthermore, excessive use of perfume may cause skin irritation and lead to allergic reactions or other skin problems. Therefore, for patients with axillary odor, it is more important to adopt targeted treatment measures, such as maintaining personal hygiene, using antimicrobial agents, antiperspirants, or deodorants, and considering surgical treatments to cure the condition. When necessary, perfume can be used appropriately to help improve odor, but one should avoid becoming overly reliant on it.
