Dr. Zhang Lu

Women with premature ovarian failure may still have the possibility of giving birth, but their chances of conception are very low.

Premature ovarian failure refers to the premature decline of ovarian function in women, leading to reduced levels of estrogen and progesterone, and thereby impairing normal follicular development and ovulation. As a result, the chance of natural pregnancy is significantly decreased. However, ovulation can be partially stimulated, and the likelihood of conception increased, through the use of ovulation-inducing medications such as bromocriptine and clomiphene.

Nevertheless, premature ovarian failure is irreversible, and even with active treatment, full restoration of ovarian function is not possible. Moreover, women with this condition may experience luteal phase deficiency after conception, which increases the risk of miscarriage, thus requiring special attention to fetal preservation.

Therefore, although women with premature ovarian failure may still have children, they must undergo active treatment and implement fetal preservation measures under the guidance of a physician to improve the chances of successful conception and ensure maternal and fetal health.
