Is vitiligo contagious?

Vitiligo is not contagious and cannot be transmitted directly or indirectly to others through any route. Vitiligo is an acquired pigment loss disorder affecting the skin and mucous membranes, and its development is associated with multiple factors including genetics, autoimmune responses, and neuro-psychological elements. Patients mainly exhibit white patches on the skin, which can appear on any part of the body.
