Several Early Signs of Kidney Cancer
Disease description:
Recently, a CT scan revealed a tumor on my right kidney with signs of abnormality. The report suspects kidney cancer or a structural tumor, and an MRI is required for further confirmation. I would like to ask, what are the early symptoms of kidney cancer?
In the early stages, kidney cancer may not cause obvious symptoms. However, as the tumor develops, the following signs may appear:
1. Blood in the urine (hematuria): Painless, visible blood in the urine is the most common early symptom. The urine may appear pink, red, or brown.
2. Back pain: Persistent pain in the lower back, which may be a dull ache or sharp stabbing pain. This can occur even with small tumors.
3. Mass: Feeling a lump in the kidney area is relatively uncommon, but if the tumor is large, it may sometimes be felt in the abdomen or flank.
4. Weight loss: Unexplained weight loss, especially when there has been no change in diet or increase in physical activity.
5. Fatigue: Feeling persistently tired or weak, which may be the body's reaction to the cancer.
6. High blood pressure: Kidney cancer can sometimes cause hypertension, particularly in later stages of the disease.
7. Other symptoms: Non-specific symptoms such as fever, night sweats, anemia, and loss of appetite may also occur.
