What to eat to reduce internal heat in babies
Disease description:
My baby hasn't had a good appetite recently, and his/her tongue appears somewhat red. I think he/she might have some internal heat (excess heat in the body). I would like to ask, if a baby has internal heat, what kinds of food are recommended in daily diet?

Infants with excessive internal heat (commonly referred to as "fire") can generally consume the following foods and medications to help reduce the heat:
1. **Foods**: The infant's diet should be light and mild. Rice congee, millet porridge, and soft noodles are recommended. Additionally, infants can consume more green vegetables such as Chinese cabbage, tomatoes, spinach, celery, and rape (Chinese mustard greens), which can help reduce internal heat. Certain fruits, such as red-fleshed dragon fruit, pears, and bananas, may also help relieve internal heat and promote bowel movements.
2. **Medications**: For infants experiencing excessive internal heat, medications with heat-clearing, detoxifying, fire-reducing, and calming effects may be used. Examples include Honeysuckle Granules (Jinyinhua Granules) and Compound Houttuynia Cordata Mixture (Fufwanyuxingcao Heji). These medications can generally help effectively reduce heat in infants. However, parents are advised not to administer any medication blindly. It is recommended to first consult a pediatrician, who will prescribe the appropriate medication based on the child's specific condition. Parents should strictly follow the dosage instructions provided by the physician.
