Symptoms of Schizoid Personality Disorder
Disease description:
My child is now 14 years old, but he/she is still very shy and has always disliked being in crowded places, preferring to stay alone even at home. I would like to ask whether this situation indicates autism, and what other symptoms might be associated with it?

Autism, also known as autism spectrum disorder, is a group of neurodevelopmental disorders characterized by features including social impairments, communication difficulties, and repetitive, stereotyped patterns of behavior. The following are some common manifestations of autism:
1. Language impairment: Most children with autism do not like to speak; in severe cases, they may remain nonverbal throughout life. Their vocabulary is usually limited, and some children who are able to speak may prefer not to talk, often using gestures instead.
2. Imitation impairment: Imitation is an important learning tool for children. Typically, children learn by imitating adult behaviors and speech, and learn to use body language, gestures, and facial expressions to facilitate communication. However, children with autism generally do not know how to imitate these behaviors.
3. Communication difficulties: These typically manifest as a lack of ability or desire to communicate with others. Some children with autism do not form close bonds with parents or caregivers from an early age and prefer to play alone.
4. Social impairment: Social difficulties are a significant challenge for children with autism. They often show little interest in people and objects around them, have difficulty understanding others' feelings, and are unable to express their own emotions appropriately.
5. Restricted interests: Children with autism usually focus for long periods on only a few specific things and typically show no interest in cartoons, children's television programs, or animated videos that are popular among typically developing children.
