What medication is good for stomach ulcers?
Recently, I have been experiencing frequent stomach discomfort. After visiting the hospital, I was diagnosed with a gastric ulcer. Could you please advise what medications are effective for treating gastric ulcers?

There are various treatment options for gastric ulcers, and medication should be selected based on the patient's condition and underlying causes under the guidance of a physician. Generally, the following medications may be used for gastric ulcers:
1. Acid-suppressive agents: such as proton pump inhibitors (e.g., omeprazole, lansoprazole, pantoprazole, rabeprazole) and H2 receptor antagonists (e.g., ranitidine, cimetidine), which effectively reduce gastric acid secretion and decrease irritation of the ulcer site by stomach acid.
2. H2 receptor antagonists: such as ranitidine and famotidine, which reduce gastric acid secretion by blocking H2 receptors on gastric parietal cells.
3. Antibacterial agents: if the gastric ulcer is associated with Helicobacter pylori infection, antibacterial medications such as amoxicillin and clarithromycin should be used to eradicate H. pylori and promote ulcer healing.
4. Antibiotics: for gastric ulcers caused by Helicobacter pylori infection, antibiotics such as clarithromycin, amoxicillin, and metronidazole should be used in combination to eradicate the pathogen.
Medication treatment should be conducted under the guidance of a physician, and patients must follow medical advice and take medications as prescribed.
