Common causes of snoring at night include the following:

1. Anatomical factors: Anatomical abnormalities such as obesity, short neck, thick neck, and small jaw can easily lead to airway narrowing, thereby causing snoring during sleep.

2. Physiological changes: With aging, respiratory muscles may become relaxed, especially in the elderly and some adults. This relaxation may exacerbate snoring.

3. Medical conditions: Diseases of the nose and throat such as sinusitis, nasal turbinate hypertrophy, tonsillar hypertrophy, and adenoid hypertrophy can obstruct the airway and lead to snoring. In addition, central sleep apnea may also be caused by abnormal regulation of the respiratory center.

4. Lifestyle habits: Unhealthy lifestyle habits such as excessive alcohol consumption, smoking, poor sleeping posture, and physical exhaustion can all worsen snoring.

5. Other factors: Poor sleep quality, high stress levels, and insomnia may also contribute to the occurrence of snoring.

Patients with severe or persistent symptoms are advised to seek medical attention promptly.
