What are the common symptoms of pseudowarts (pseudovenereal warts)?
I recently felt something growing in my genital area. Doctor, I'd like to ask about the common symptoms of pseudogenital warts.
Common symptoms of pseudowarts (pseudoverrucosis) mainly include the following:
1. Appearance: Pseudowarts typically present as small skin or mucosal protrusions, usually close to the normal skin color or slightly white, varying in size and shape. Compared with true genital warts, their surface is smoother and lacks the typical "cauliflower-like" appearance.
2. Anatomical distribution: These lesions commonly occur in moist areas such as the external genitalia and around the vaginal opening in females, and the inner side of the foreskin in males. They can also appear around the anus. Unlike true genital warts, which tend to have a more widespread distribution, pseudowarts tend to be locally clustered.
3. Absence of noticeable symptoms: Patients usually do not experience symptoms such as pain or itching. In most cases, these lesions are discovered incidentally during physical examinations or other medical checks.
4. Increased vaginal discharge: Patients may notice a marked increase in vaginal discharge, which becomes thicker in consistency and appears white or yellowish-green in color.
5. Symmetrical distribution of small papules in the vagina: These small papules typically appear on the vaginal walls, varying in size, and are usually close to the skin color or pale red.
