Urinary tract inflammation symptoms
I have recently experienced symptoms of frequent and urgent urination. The doctor said it's a urinary tract infection. What are the symptoms of urinary tract inflammation?

The main symptoms of urinary tract inflammation include the following:
1. Frequent and urgent urination: Patients may feel the need to urinate frequently, even when the amount of urine is small. Urgency refers to a sudden and intense desire to urinate, which can sometimes be difficult to control.
2. Pain or burning sensation during urination: Patients may experience pain, burning, or stinging during urination, particularly noticeable at the end of urination.
3. Abnormal urine color: The urine may appear cloudy, visibly discolored, or contain blood that is visible to the naked eye or under microscopic examination.
4. Back pain: When the inflammation spreads upward to the kidneys, it may cause hydronephrosis (kidney swelling due to urine buildup) and ureteral dilation, leading to symptoms such as soreness, discomfort, or pain in the lower back.
5. Systemic symptoms: Some patients may experience systemic symptoms such as chills, fever, headache, and fatigue. These symptoms may result from an inflammatory response triggered by a bacterial infection affecting the whole body.
6. Special manifestations in elderly patients: Elderly individuals may not exhibit typical symptoms; instead, they may present with non-specific signs such as changes in mental status, confusion, or falls.
