Symptoms after blood sugar reduction
Recently, I ate sweet foods all day and felt dizzy and lightheaded. After getting checked, I found out my blood sugar was low. May I ask, what are the symptoms of low blood sugar?

Blood glucose reduction, known as hypoglycemia, can trigger symptoms including:
1. Early symptoms: In the initial stage, patients may experience sympathetic nervous system activation symptoms such as hunger, headache, dizziness, anxiety, and pallor.
2. Intermediate symptoms: Central nervous system involvement occurs, leading to cognitive dysfunction, such as difficulty concentrating, slurred speech, abnormal behavior, blurred vision, and ataxia.
3. Late symptoms: If hypoglycemia is severe or prolonged, patients may develop serious symptoms such as confusion, transient visual loss (blackout), or even coma due to brain dysfunction, requiring immediate treatment.
4. Specific symptoms: Depending on the cause of hypoglycemia, patients may also exhibit specific symptoms. For example, hypoglycemia caused by hyperinsulinism may be accompanied by palpitations and tremors.
The severity and presentation of hypoglycemia symptoms vary among individuals. Once symptoms of hypoglycemia occur, it is essential to consume sugary foods or oral glucose solution immediately and seek medical attention promptly.
