What causes testicular pain?
I have had some testicular pain for the past two days. The pain improved slightly after taking some painkillers, but the pain returned after stopping the medication. May I ask what could be causing testicular pain?

Common causes of testicular pain include the following:
1. Varicocele: Abnormal dilation and twisting of veins within the spermatic cord may lead to poor blood flow around the testicle, causing testicular pain.
2. Orchitis and Epididymitis: Infections are common causes of testicular pain, such as epididymitis and orchitis. These inflammations are usually caused by bacterial or viral infections and are characterized by symptoms including testicular pain, swelling, and fever.
3. Testicular Torsion: Torsion is another significant cause of acute testicular pain. This is a medical emergency that can cause severe pain and requires immediate medical attention to prevent ischemic damage and potential necrosis of the testicle.
4. Trauma: A strong impact or injury to the testicle may cause pain, often accompanied by symptoms such as redness, swelling, and localized warmth.
5. Other Conditions: Other diseases such as hernia, urinary tract stones, and certain systemic diseases may also cause testicular pain.
If symptoms persist or worsen, prompt medical attention is recommended.
