Can esophageal cardia cancer be cured?
A few days ago, I was diagnosed with esophagogastric junction cancer during a medical examination. Can esophagogastric junction cancer be cured?

The treatment outcomes and prognosis of esophagogastric junction cancer mainly depend on early detection and staging of the cancer.
For early-diagnosed esophagogastric junction cancer, a higher possibility of cure can be achieved through surgical resection, radiotherapy, chemotherapy, or a combination of these methods.
Very early-stage esophagogastric junction cancer, in which the tumor invades only the mucosal layer without lymph node metastasis, can achieve long-term, favorable survival after treatment.
Early or locally advanced esophagogastric junction cancer, if without distant metastasis, may allow some patients to achieve survival beyond five years after treatment.
In advanced esophagogastric junction cancer, when distant metastasis has occurred, the prognosis is generally poor.
Surgery is the primary treatment method. For patients with locally advanced or unresectable disease, radiotherapy and chemotherapy can help control disease progression, alleviate symptoms, and prolong survival.
