What are the symptoms of chronic superficial gastritis?
I always feel uncomfortable in my stomach; it feels uneasy when I'm hungry, and also feels uncomfortable after eating. After an examination, I was told I have chronic superficial gastritis. I'm very curious, what are the symptoms of chronic superficial gastritis?
Common symptoms of chronic superficial gastritis include:
1. Dyspeptic symptoms: Patients often experience epigastric dull pain, bloating, belching, and acid reflux. These symptoms may not be specific but can significantly affect the patient's daily life and eating habits.
2. Epigastric pain: Most patients experience epigastric pain, which is often described as dull, distending, or burning pain. The pain typically lacks a clear pattern and is not strongly related to meals. However, pain may worsen after consuming cold, spicy, or irritating foods.
3. Abdominal distension: Due to food retention in the stomach, delayed gastric emptying, and indigestion, patients frequently feel bloated. This sensation of bloating may persist and affect the patient's food intake and comfort.
4. Other symptoms: Some patients may also experience nausea, vomiting, loss of appetite, fatigue, constipation, or diarrhea. These symptoms may occur independently or alongside the dyspeptic symptoms mentioned above.
If the above symptoms occur, it is recommended to seek medical attention promptly.
