Helicobacter pylori infection symptoms:

1. Abdominal pain and bloating: H. pylori infection can cause inflammation of the gastric mucosa, leading to discomfort such as upper abdominal pain, fullness, and burning sensation. The pain is often diffuse, distended, or dull in nature, although a few patients may experience colicky pain.

2. Indigestion: Symptoms include post-meal fullness, belching, nausea, and vomiting.

3. Loss of appetite: Long-term infection may lead to decreased appetite and subsequent weight loss.

4. Acid reflux: Some patients may experience gastroesophageal reflux, causing heartburn.

5. Bleeding and anemia: In severe cases, H. pylori infection can damage the gastric mucosa, leading to gastrointestinal bleeding manifested as black stools or vomiting blood. Long-term chronic blood loss may also result in iron-deficiency anemia.

6. Bad breath: Following H. pylori infection, elevated urease levels in the stomach break down urea, and the resulting gas may be exhaled through the respiratory tract, causing halitosis.

If the above symptoms occur, prompt medical consultation for examination and treatment is recommended.
