How to treat knee pain and weakness
I accidentally injured my meniscus a while ago. When it was almost healed, I started feeling soreness and weakness in my knee. How should this be treated?

Knee soreness and weakness can be caused by various factors, including overuse, sports injuries, arthritis, patellar softening syndrome, meniscus injury, and others. Below are some basic management methods:
1. Rest and immobilization: For knee soreness and weakness caused by strain, adequate rest is necessary to reduce the load on the knee joint. Avoid prolonged standing or walking, and try to maintain knee stability.
2. Application of cold and heat therapy: If caused by injury, cold compresses can be applied within 24 hours to help reduce pain and swelling; after 24 hours, heat compresses can be used to promote blood circulation and relieve discomfort.
3. Physical therapy: Includes strength training, stretching exercises, and balance training, which can enhance the muscle strength around the knee joint, improve joint stability and function.
4. Medication: Nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs), such as ibuprofen capsules, can be used to help relieve pain and inflammation.
5. Weight management: Losing weight can reduce the burden on the knees, especially for overweight or obese individuals.
6. Use of supportive devices: Such as knee pads, knee braces, etc., which can provide additional support and stability.
