What is the treatment for synovitis?
The area around the knee is swollen and painful, making walking somewhat difficult. After going to the hospital for an examination, it was discovered to be synovitis. What should be done?

Common symptoms of synovitis include joint swelling, pain, and limited mobility. The main treatment options are:
1. Rest and protection: During the acute phase, reduce activity of the affected joint to avoid exacerbating inflammation. Use crutches or walking aids to减轻 joint stress.
2. Local cold application: Applicable for initial swelling and pain in synovitis, helping to reduce inflammatory exudation and alleviate pain.
3. Heat application: After swelling has persisted for more than 48 hours, apply heat to promote dissipation of bruising and improve blood circulation.
4. Microwave therapy or far-infrared therapy: Helps to reduce local inflammation and promote recovery.
5. Nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs): Such as ibuprofen capsules, indomethacin tablets, used to relieve pain and reduce inflammation.
6. Glucocorticoids: In cases of severe inflammation, local injection of glucocorticoids can rapidly reduce inflammation and pain.
7. Rehabilitation exercises: After pain relief, perform appropriate joint function exercises to strengthen muscles, improve joint stability, and prevent joint stiffness.
8. Surgical treatment: If nonsurgical treatments are ineffective and synovitis symptoms severely impact the patient's quality of life, surgical treatment may be considered. Surgical options include minimally invasive arthroscopic procedures, in which inflamed synovium is removed under the scope to alleviate symptoms of synovitis.
