How to recover after a fracture
I accidentally fell down and fractured a bone. I currently have a cast on it. I would like to know how I should recover after a fracture?
Common treatments after a fracture:
1. Seek medical attention promptly: It is recommended to go to the hospital immediately for treatment. The appropriate method of immobilization should then be selected based on the type of fracture, such as casting, external fixation devices, or surgical internal fixation.
2. Rehabilitation methods: These include warm compresses, cold compresses, massage, traction, and exercise therapy, aimed at promoting blood circulation, relieving pain, easing muscle tension, and assisting in the recovery of muscle strength and joint flexibility.
3. Enhance nutrition: During the recovery period, patients should improve their nutrition by consuming more high-protein and high-calcium foods, such as milk, lean meat, and bone soup, to promote bone regeneration and accelerate healing.
4. Exercise: Appropriate physical activity can help restore muscle and bone function and prevent stiffness and atrophy. Exercise should be performed gradually, avoiding excessive or strenuous activity.
