What causes gas in the stomach?
Recently, I have been feeling as if there is gas in my stomach, occasionally accompanied by belching and a taste of food. May I ask, what causes gas in the stomach?

Gas accumulation in the stomach is a common digestive system symptom, mainly manifested as abdominal fullness, increased belching, or flatulence.
1. Insufficient gastric motility: When gastric motility is inadequate, the emptying of food from the stomach slows down, leading to food retention and subsequent bloating.
2. Swallowing air: Eating too quickly, talking while eating, or chewing gum can lead to unintentional ingestion of large amounts of air.
3. Dietary factors: Consuming excessive amounts of gas-producing foods, such as soy products, peanuts, and sweet potatoes, can result in increased gas production during digestion and breakdown in the stomach.
4. Nervous system dysfunction: When individuals experience emotional states such as tension or anxiety, it may trigger dysfunction of the nerves controlling the stomach, leading to increased gas accumulation.
5. Functional gastrointestinal disorders: Such as irritable bowel syndrome, patients may experience associated symptoms such as abdominal pain, diarrhea, or constipation, which are related to psychological stress and dietary habits.
If symptoms persist or worsen, timely medical consultation is recommended.
