Gastritis and epigastric pain: what to do?
I suffer from chronic superficial gastritis, and I'm still experiencing severe pain in the epigastric region. How should I deal with the epigastric pain caused by gastritis?

When experiencing epigastric pain due to gastritis, patients should take the following measures:
1. Medication: Under a doctor's guidance, use medications such as omeprazole, rabeprazole, hydrotalcite, and colloidal bismuth pectin to alleviate stomach pain. If Helicobacter pylori infection is present, triple or quadruple therapy should be employed for eradication.
2. Dietary adjustments: Avoid spicy, greasy, overly hot, or cold foods; reduce intake of coffee and alcohol; eat regular meals in moderate portions and avoid overeating.
3. Lifestyle modifications: Quit smoking, limit alcohol consumption, maintain a healthy weight, avoid tight clothing that compresses the abdomen, and refrain from eating 2-3 hours before bedtime. Maintain emotional stability and avoid negative emotions such as stress and anxiety.
4. Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) treatment: Acupuncture or Chinese herbal medicines such as Xiangsha Yangwei Pills may be tried for treatment.
5. Psychological regulation: Gastritis is related to mental stress; engage in appropriate physical activity and ensure adequate sleep.
Patients should follow medical advice, avoid self-medication to prevent delaying treatment, and seek timely medical attention if discomfort or worsening symptoms occur during treatment.
