What causes a stroke?
I've been experiencing dizziness and nausea quite often recently. Two days ago, I actually fainted and was rushed to the hospital. The doctor diagnosed it as a stroke. I really want to ask, what causes a stroke?

The main causes of stroke include the following aspects:
1. Vascular lesions: Chronic diseases such as long-term hypertension, diabetes, hyperlipidemia, and hyperhomocysteinemia, as well as unhealthy lifestyle habits such as smoking, excessive alcohol consumption, and obesity, can all lead to atherosclerosis. These conditions may cause narrowing, blockage, or rupture of blood vessels, thereby triggering a stroke.
2. Heart diseases: Such as atrial fibrillation, rheumatic heart disease, and valvular disorders. These conditions can easily lead to mural thrombus formation, and when the thrombus detaches, it can travel through the bloodstream to the brain, causing cerebral embolism.
3. Congenital vascular abnormalities in the brain: Such as aneurysms and arteriovenous malformations. These abnormal blood vessels are prone to rupture and bleeding, leading to subarachnoid hemorrhage or intracerebral hemorrhage.
4. Hematologic disorders: Such as thrombocytopenia and polycythemia. These diseases can affect normal blood coagulation and flow, increasing the risk of stroke.
5. Other factors: Such as trauma, poisoning, brain tumors, and prolonged mental stress or emotional fluctuations, which may also trigger a stroke.
