During this period, my stomach has been very uncomfortable. I'm going to the hospital in two days to have a gastroscopy. I've never had one before, and I'd like to know what would be good to eat after the procedure.

After undergoing a gastroscopy, it is important to choose light, easily digestible foods:

1. Liquid or semi-liquid foods: In the first few hours after the examination, you may choose to drink warm water, rice soup, thin porridge, soy milk, or fruit juice to reduce irritation to the throat and stomach.

2. Soft foods: When the throat and stomach feel more comfortable, you can gradually transition to soft foods such as well-cooked noodles, steamed eggs, boiled potatoes, and pumpkin puree. These foods are easy to chew and digest, placing minimal strain on the stomach.

3. High-protein, low-fat foods: To promote recovery, choose foods that are high in protein but low in fat, such as fish, chicken breast meat, and tofu. Avoid fried, spicy, overly hot, or cold foods, which may irritate the gastric mucosa.

4. Fresh fruits and vegetables: Examples include tomatoes, wood ear mushrooms, celery, and luffa, which are rich in vitamins and fiber, helping to promote gastrointestinal motility and blood circulation. However, avoid raw, cold, or difficult-to-digest fruits and vegetables.

During the recovery period, maintain regular meal times, eat small meals frequently, chew food thoroughly, and eat slowly to aid in recovery.
