Disease description:

I have been really enjoying eating avocados lately, especially having them with bread and milk in the morning. A friend mentioned that I should also pay attention to dietary contraindications associated with avocados. So, what foods should not be eaten together with avocados?

Avocado is a nutrient-rich fruit, but attention should be paid to food pairing when consuming it, to avoid eating it with certain foods or medications simultaneously, which may affect health.

1. High-sugar foods: Avocados themselves are calorie-dense, primarily due to their healthy fat content. Consuming them together with high-sugar foods in large amounts might lead to excessive calorie intake, which is unfavorable for weight management and blood sugar control.

2. High-fiber foods: Avocados themselves are rich in dietary fiber. Consuming large amounts of other high-fiber foods at the same time might increase the burden on the gastrointestinal tract, causing discomfort such as indigestion, bloating, or diarrhea.

3. Medications: Avocados contain a substance called "tyrosinol," which may affect the metabolism of certain medications, especially those metabolized through the CYP450 enzyme system. Therefore, individuals taking specific medications should consult their doctor before consuming avocados.
