Can uterine fibroids disappear on their own?
I heard them say that uterine fibroids can disappear on their own, and I would like to consult a doctor to confirm if this is true.

Uterine fibroids typically do not disappear on their own.
Uterine fibroids are the most common benign tumors of the female reproductive system, primarily formed by the proliferation of uterine smooth muscle cells. Their growth is closely related to female hormone levels, especially estrogen and progesterone. Uterine fibroids usually do not resolve spontaneously. This is because uterine fibroids are hormone-dependent tumors; under the influence of sex hormones, uterine smooth muscle tissue proliferates and forms fibroids.
However, spontaneous disappearance is not entirely impossible. For example, after menopause, as estrogen levels in the body decline, uterine fibroids often shrink or even disappear. This occurs because hormone levels decrease after menopause, removing the stimulating factors that promote fibroid growth.
In premenopausal women, uterine fibroids generally do not resolve on their own. They may persist and even grow further in some cases, especially during physiological periods or pregnancy when hormone levels are elevated. Therefore, women of reproductive age who are diagnosed with uterine fibroids should undergo regular medical examinations.
