What are the symptoms of lung cancer in humans?
I've been feeling uncomfortable in my lungs for the past two days. I've been worried it might be serious lung cancer because I haven't had it checked yet. I'd like to ask the doctor, what are the symptoms of lung cancer?
Early symptoms of lung cancer may not be obvious and mainly depend on the tumor's location, size, and pathological type. Common symptoms include:
1. Persistent cough: This is the most common early symptom, often presenting as an irritating dry cough, sometimes accompanied by hemoptysis or blood-streaked sputum, with the amount of blood varying from minimal to substantial.
2. Shortness of breath: Patients may experience difficulty breathing due to airway obstruction or impaired lung function caused by the tumor.
4. Chest pain: The pain may be dull, sharp, or constant, and can worsen with breathing, coughing, or changing body positions.
5. Recurrent pneumonia or bronchitis: Lung cancer can lead to repeated episodes of lung infection.
6. Other symptoms: These may include chest tightness, rapid breathing, fever, weight loss, and decreased appetite.
These symptoms do not necessarily indicate lung cancer and could also be signs of other health conditions. However, individuals who smoke or have long-term exposure to risk factors such as secondhand smoke or air pollution are advised to seek timely medical evaluation to rule out the possibility of lung cancer.
