What causes headaches without cold or fever?
I've had a headache recently, but I don't have a cold or fever. May I ask what could cause a headache without having a cold or fever?
Headaches that occur without a cold or fever can be caused by various factors. The following are some possible causes:
1. Sleep deprivation: Long-term lack of sleep or poor sleep quality can prevent the brain from getting sufficient rest, leading to headaches.
2. Migraine: Migraine is a common type of primary headache, potentially related to genetic and endocrine metabolic factors. It is characterized by pain on one or both sides of the head and may be accompanied by symptoms such as nausea and vomiting.
3. Hypertension: Patients with high blood pressure may experience headaches if their blood pressure is poorly controlled. This type of headache typically presents as a feeling of pressure or pain in the head and may be accompanied by palpitations and fatigue.
4. Psychological factors: Mental factors such as heavy work pressure, anxiety, tension, and emotional instability can also cause headaches, often manifesting as tension-type headaches.
5. Environmental stimuli: Environmental factors such as noise, bright light pollution, and toxic gases may also irritate the head and trigger headaches.
If headaches suddenly worsen or are accompanied by other severe symptoms, immediate medical attention should be sought.
