What causes facial muscle twitching?

Facial muscle twitching, also known as facial myokymia or eyelid spasm, is a common neuromuscular disorder. The following are some common causes:

1. Excessive fatigue: After prolonged work, study, or strenuous exercise, increased lactic acid production in the body may irritate the facial muscles, leading to muscle twitching. In such cases, paying attention to rest and relaxation usually helps alleviate symptoms gradually.
