What should not be eaten with hairy crabs?
Today I went to the river and caught some river crabs to take back and cook a meal. However, I've never done this before, so I need to do some research: what should not be eaten together with river crabs?
Soft-shelled turtle is a delicious aquatic product with delicate flavor and rich nutrition. However, attention should be paid to avoid combining it with certain foods to prevent discomfort.
1. Tannic acid-containing fruits such as persimmon and pomegranate: Soft-shelled turtle contains abundant protein, while tannic acid in fruits such as persimmon and pomegranate may combine with protein to form substances that are difficult to digest, possibly causing indigestion or even gastric calculus.
2. Cold-natured foods: As a cold-natured food itself, soft-shelled turtle should not be consumed together with other cold-natured foods or beverages, such as ice cream, chilled drinks, pears, watermelon, etc., to avoid increasing gastrointestinal burden and causing symptoms such as diarrhea.
3. Beer: The purine content in beer, when combined with the high protein in soft-shelled turtle, can easily cause an increase in uric acid levels in the body, thereby increasing the risk of gout.
It is recommended to wait at least two hours after consuming soft-shelled turtle before consuming other foods. In addition, due to its high protein and fat content, excessive consumption of soft-shelled turtle may burden the digestive system; therefore, moderate consumption is advised.
