Disease description:

I often experience stomach pain, and sometimes my back also hurts. A gastroscopy revealed that I have erosive gastritis. The medications I'm taking include colloidal bismuth pectin, omeprazole, and amoxicillin, but I don't feel they are very effective. Doctor, how should erosive gastritis be treated?

Dr. Shen Yonghua

Here are some primary treatment methods for erosive gastritis:

1. Medication therapy: Commonly used medications include proton pump inhibitors such as omeprazole, which reduce gastric acid secretion and promote healing of the gastric mucosa; gastric mucosal protectants such as sucralfate, which coat and protect the gastric mucosa; and if the condition is caused by Helicobacter pylori infection, antibiotics are also required for eradication therapy.

2. Lifestyle modifications: Avoid consuming irritating foods, such as spicy or greasy foods, quit smoking and limit alcohol consumption, maintain regular eating habits, avoid overeating and binge eating to reduce the burden on the stomach. At the same time, maintain a positive mindset and avoid excessive mental stress.

3. Symptomatic treatment: For patients with significant symptoms, such as severe abdominal pain or persistent vomiting, pain relievers or antiemetics may be needed to alleviate symptoms. In severe cases, intravenous hydration or hospital observation may be necessary.

4. Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) regulation: Traditional Chinese treatments such as acupuncture and massage can also be used as adjunctive therapies for erosive gastritis, promoting the repair and recovery of the gastric mucosa by regulating blood circulation and internal organ functions.

Patients should undergo treatment under a doctor's guidance and have regular follow-up examinations.
