What to do if a baby has a fever
My baby has a fever, and I'm very worried. What should I do for an infant with a fever?

Approaches to dealing with infant fever include:
1. Measuring body temperature accurately using a digital thermometer under the armpit or in the ear to confirm whether the infant's temperature is elevated. Once the temperature exceeds 38°C, closely monitor accompanying symptoms such as coughing, vomiting, and rashes, as these symptoms can provide important clues for a doctor's diagnosis.
2. Daily care: Ensure the infant receives adequate hydration and sufficient rest. Dress the baby in light, breathable clothing and avoid overwrapping, which may further elevate body temperature. A lukewarm sponge bath may be used to assist in cooling, but never use alcohol baths, as this may harm the baby.
3. If the infant's temperature remains above 39°C or serious symptoms such as drowsiness, difficulty breathing, or seizures appear, seek immediate medical attention without delay. Additionally, regularly recheck and record the temperature to help assess the progression of the illness.
When facing an infant's fever, parents must remain calm, closely observe the baby's condition, and take appropriate measures. If the fever exceeds 38.5°C, prompt medical attention is necessary.
